This kind of hot shoe works through a hot shoe extension cord for one single TTL flash only. Before the shutter disclose, the flash will automatically trigger. With the help of pre flash the system will automatically set a flash level accordingly via the hot shoe. There should be no use of PC cord or any optical trigger or else it will work in manual mode. Nikon usually has leading cables like SC-28 SC-9 or SC-17 as hot shoe cables.


This is a kind of flash that uses a Speedlight. It neither falls in off camera flash nor direct flash. The Speedlight is already attached to the camera hot shoe. As soon as the shutter button is triggered, the flash will adjust itself either in manual mode or TTL mode. It is very effective if it is from a ceiling or through a wall. This is considered to be one of the most effective flashes and Bounce Flash is comparatively very easy and simple for photographers to use. Budding photographers may not and it very difficult to use and can have a great learning experience.


The film cameras usually quench off based on the exposure. They work on real time. The TTL light on film surface in real time usually quench off if the exposure was sufficient. It comes along with a quench pin which helps in controlling the flash. TTLs usually cannot do that as the flash power should be pre set for it to happen automatically or digitally.
